E3 Lithium Assures Safety in Transporting Battery-Grade Lithium

Residents living near the future lithium production facility east of Olds can rest easy, according to E3 Lithium's CEO, Chris Doornbos. Addressing concerns sparked by recent online reports of dramatic lithium-ion battery fires, Doornbos emphasized that such incidents are caused by impurities in the battery materials, not the lithium itself.

The lithium carbonate E3 Lithium plans to produce at their test facility, located just north of Reed Ranch School, is both highly pure and exceptionally stable. "The material coming out of our facility is inert," Doornbos stated. "Our lithium carbonate is like table salt – it’s completely safe to handle."

To further ensure safety, E3 Lithium has outlined a strict packaging and transport process. "The product will be sealed in airtight, one-meter bulk bags and loaded into secure containers," he explained. "From there, it will be transported by truck to a rail depot and sent to its final destination."

With these measures in place, E3 Lithium aims to alleviate any concerns about the safety of transporting its product. As Doornbos assured, "There’s no risk of explosion or fire with what we’re shipping out."
